WHAT DOES BIRCHFIELD SCHOOL STAND FOR?

• A truly rounded education; academic, art, sport, music, drama and personal growth • Happy and motivated children at the heart of everything we do • The individual – every child counts and every child is unique and special, bringing something different to our community • Discovering and developing the potential of every child in our care and delivering the highest possible standards of behaviour and education • Pupils, staff and parents, working together as one

Wherever you plan to send your children for their Senior School education, Birchfield delivers a superlative start with a truly holistic educational experience from age 4 to 13.
Birchfield pupils are proud, happy and confident children who are in demand from prestigious independent schools across the Midlands and beyond at both age 11 and 13; producing a wide range of scholarships and awards from their chosen destinations.
Our aim is to fully prepare your children for their next step, advising, recommending and ensuring their next school is the ‘right fit’. Our independence ensures we are not tied to ‘one size fits all’ education and we pride ourselves on the wide range of senior schools that we feed each year. Our belief in nurturing the individual remains at the heart of our service delivery and we support each child’s unique personality and requirements for their next school.
Whilst our main focus is educating your children to the age of 13 for Common Entrance or Academic Scholarship exams, we also support those wishing to move on to grammar schools at 11 years and have an impressive track record in pupil attainment of 11+ places.
Supporting our all-round approach is a focus on Study Skills throughout the School which allows your child to develop effective learning habits from an early age and cope well with the rigours of exam time.

Destination Schools

Birchfield is proud to have longstanding and meaningful relationships with many prestigious and well-regarded senior schools in the Midlands and beyond. Because we are a truly independent preparatory school, we do not feed your child into a pre-destined educational journey. We do not believe in the ‘one size fits all’ approach to senior school education. Rather, we prefer to nurture your child and make informed recommendations for their next step, to a senior school that is the best fit for their individual personality and strengths.
