Birchfield Charities

GIVING IS NOT JUST ABOUT MAKING A DONATION. IT IS ABOUT MAKING A DIFFERENCE

    Kathy Calvin

One of our key values at Birchfield is to learn and exercise social conscience. We teach our pupils that there are many people in life who are not as lucky as them and that we should always seek to give, rather than take. As a consequence, our children develop a high level of social awareness and are keen to regularly make a difference to the lives of others.
Every term, Birchfield supports a different charity, undertaking activities to raise funds. Activities range from ‘Own Clothes Day’ to cake sales, to walking up The Wrekin three-legged, to sponsored swims. In the 2017/2018 Academic Year we are proud to have supported the following worthy causes:
     • St. Mary’s Church, Albrighton • The Brain Tumour Charity • Walking with the Wounded • Water Aid • NSPCC • Birmingham Children’s Hospital • Sport Relief
